Do you like planes? Do your kids like planes? Are they driving you crazy because they want to see the new Disney Planes movie coming out? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you understand the craziness that I am currently experiencing in our house. All planes, all the time right now. So, when I was online and saw this:
I knew I had to take the kids. Saturday morning came around and it was dark and cloudy. Not the best weather to go to an air museum, but we went anyway, it only sprinkled. Anyway, I'm so glad we went. I didn't even know they had opened an air museum in Miami. Always fun to seek out new treasures!
Here are the kids, of course, modeling outfits:

When you walk in, there is a library on your right. The kids went straight over, grabbed a book and said "This one teaches you how to fly a plane!" (Not really, it was a WWII book!)
You walk down this hallway, with war memorabilia and exhibits, to the hangar.
In the hangar, they have all these cool planes on exhibit:
Outside the hanger, they had these planes on exhibit. These planes are similar to the ones from the movie. They even did a fly-by for the kids. They had pilots and Air Force members walking around answering questions.
This plane was massive. It was outside the hangar on display for people to take pictures.
Inside, there was a free magic show for the kids. This magician was a modern magician, lots of fun. He also had a raffle for three Disney Planes prizes. There was a Planes die-cast, the new Planes Wii game and the Planes soundtrack.
Guess who won the Planes soundtrack? Yes Amberly and yes, we had to listen to it the whole way home!
Dusty from the movie.
The kids had a wonderful time and went home with posters, temporary tattoos, coloring pages and stickers. I highly recommend this museum for all families.

ReplyDeleteIt was a cool place. I definitely recommend it if you ever come down to Miami!
DeleteThe massive plane is a 1943 PBY Catalina, a WW2 patrol/bomber flying boat. You can find its history at:
