Laundry is serious business in this house. With seven people living under one roof, we have LOTS of laundry to do weekly. Growing up, my mother was adamant about laundry being done a certain way! All items to be washed had to be sorted as follows: whites, hand-wash, light colors, dark colors, gym/sports clothes, towels and then sheets. Then it had to be washed in that same order, placed in the dryer and pulled out right before the dryer stopped. Then it was on to ironing. All this had to be done in one day, even the hand-washed items. It took the WHOLE day! We all learned to do our laundry like this and it was torture! I continued with this same laundry method until last week. I couldn't take it anymore. There had to be an easier and faster way to do laundry, maybe even stop sorting (GASP!!). That's when I saw an ad for Purex® No Sort™ laundry detergent. A detergent that would help me stop sorting laundry....I had to have it.

I went to Walmart, where I always purchase my laundry needs, and went straight to the laundry detergents aisle. There is was, the answer to all my laundry problems and under $4 a bottle!! I had never in my life been so excited to get home and do laundry!!

As soon as I got home, I went upstairs and filled a basket of dirty clothes. There were red shirts, gym clothes, khaki shorts, white socks, denim, you name it, it was probably in that pile. I threw it all together in the washing machine, poured my new Purex® No Sort™ detergent in, closed the lid, started the washer and did a happy dance!!!

When the washer stopped 40 minutes later, I ran over and opened the lid and you know what I saw, PERFECTION!!! All the clothes was intact with no color bleeding onto another piece. I was overjoyed. I was saved from the dreaded "eternal laundry day!" No more sorting for me!!!!!! #LaundrySimplified #CollectiveBias

Now being the math geek I am, I had to know how much time I had just saved. My washer takes about 40 minutes to wash a load and then about another 40 minutes to dry it. That's an hour and 20 minutes per load x 7 loads (what I used to do) = 9 1/2 hours of laundry (not counting folding time). Since I don't need to sort anymore, I estimate about 4 loads x 80 minutes = about 5 hours if I continued to do all my laundry in one day! I just saved 4 hours, 4 glorious hours. What would I do with my time?

Spend it with these people, of course!!! I'm sure they missed me!

"The Rules Have Changed"
a message from Purex®

Laundry users believe sorting is an essential part of their laundry routine so our challenge is to convince them that that has changed. In order to reassure our consumers, we have focused on educating them on our breakthrough Anti-Color-Transfer Technology which traps loose dyes in the wash and does not let them settle onto other fabrics. As a result, they are able to simplify their laundry routine by doing less sorting and less loads.

"Purex® No Sort™ detergent is packed with innovation, but it can't perform miracles, so please follow these words of advice: wash strongly colored fabrics or new pieces of clothing, especially jeans, separately at least 5 times before doing a mixed color load with Purex® No Sort™ detergent"
