If you have been following this blog for awhile now, you know that we love to go to the park. Saturdays are usually our park days. We pack a cooler full of sandwiches, water, snacks and head out to our local park. We also take a bag full of sports balls, the kids' scooters, kites and other fun outdoor toys. We spend all day at the park playing together and individually. This is the kids' favorite playground at our local park.
Isn't it amazing? I love that its covered (Florida sun can be brutal!!), has a toddler area and an older kid area and is right in the middle of the park so no matter which tree I choose to sit under, I can see my kids. I also love all the paths where the kids can also ride their bikes and scooters.
Our local park holds many memories for me. I remember the day these two were finally brave enough to climb to the top...
I remember last summer when JC taught the kids how to ride their bikes without training wheels!
This same park is also where Adrian and Ivanna go three times a week for youth soccer.
Why am I talking about parks today? Well it's the first official day of summer and as most of the kids around the country are out of school, they have lots of free time on their hands. What better way to spend some of that free time than playing at the park!!
The Voice of Play is an education and advocacy initiative of the non-profit membership association, IPEMA, formed to educate and promote the benefits of children's free outdoor play and playgrounds. through the Voice of Play website and social media properties, IPEMA highlights the scientifically proven physical, social, emotional and cognitive benefits of play!
