Growing Old Gracefully

Growing older. None of us really wants it to happen but we know its going to come. I'm in my thirties but for the past 14 years, I've had my bestest friend growing older with me, my dog Paris.
Paris is a rescue dog. She has been part of our family since I was in college. She was given to me when she was only a few days old and dying. I nursed het back to health and she has been by my side ever since. She's always been a very active, very smart dog. Heck, she's even bilingual!!  She understands everything you tell her in both English and Spanish!!

As she gets older, I don't want to see her deteriorate. I want her to stay as alert as she's always been. I spent some time researching a more appropriate food for senior dogs like her and I found Purina® Pro Plan® Bright Mind. So, we headed out on an adventure to PetSmart to find her new food and maybe some treats!!

We purchased the Purina® Pro Plan® Bright Mind Senior Small Breed food, the one with the green band in the picture below! Purina Pro Plan Bright Mind is specially formulated to increase cognitive awareness in adult (age 7+) dogs. It also contains enhanced botanical oils shown to promote alertness and mental sharpness.  When added to the daily diet of dogs 7+, formulas that contained enhanced botanical oils promoted memory, attention and trainability.

I've been transitioning her to her new food slowly over the past couple of days. I don't want her digestive system to get all messed up by just switching out cod turkey. Gotta take care of my girl. Speaking of which, I think it's time for a haircut!!

Do you have a dog that you've grown older with? What are some of your favorite activities to do together?

  1. Paris is so cute! I love that photo of her stranding up in the cart looking at the food! We have two older pups here in our house, so I’ll have to check out this food. Thanks! #client
