Stay Prepared and Maintain Your Confidence All Month Long

It's time to talk confidence. I have always been a pretty confident person but there is that one time a month where I don't feel so great. We all know what that time is, that "lovely, womanly time" (BARF!) we all go through every month. I don't understand why some women don't want to talk about periods. As women, we all have them, some worse than others, but it comes, every stinkin' month! It's not my favorite time of the month but I try my best to maintain a happy, go lucky demeanor. The only way I can do this is to be prepared!

I got my first period when I was 10. At that time, I remember running to my dad to tell him what happened. He called my sisters and they helped me out. I now have a 9 year old step-daughter and an 11 year old niece. Those lucky girls haven't gotten their periods yet but I know they will come around soon. Since I was only 10 when I got my period, I have been getting my "monthly visitor" for what seems like forever. The only grace period was when I was pregnant with Adrian. It was bliss but once that was over, well if you've ever given birth you know what happens when pregnancy ends, it was back to my monthly torture. Over the years, I know what has worked for me and my body and now I stay prepared and confident all month long!

First up......pads and tampons. It is what it is. I've tried lots of things over the years but I always come back to the basics. I like to use U by Kotex®. U by Kotex® 3D Caprture Core® with Xpress DRI quickly draws in and locks away wetness. I do buy both tampons and pads. You never know which one you might need!

Then I indulge. I don't feel fresh during my period so I like to stock up on items to help me stay clean and fresh. I'm not a big make-up and hair person so I don't indulge in a new lipstick or haircut but I do love to buy new body washes and lotions. I also make sure to have some menstrual relief tablets handy, you know for the aches and pains. I also keep a package of cleansing cloths in my bag for bathroom breaks! Oh and let's not forget my favorite item of the month: dark chocolate espresso beans!! If you've never had a chocolate covered espresso bean, you don't know what you are missing out on!

I keep all my items in a cute basket in my bathroom. This way I have everything I need for when I need it! This also helps me see what I need to restock on next time I am at CVS. Staying prepared helps me stay confident and when I am confident, I can take on the world!

All items in my confidence basket can be purchased at your local CVS!!

.
Tell me: How do you indulge during your time of the month?

  1. I am so grateful that I did not get my period until I was almost 14. I was a little socially immature, so I don't know that I could've handled it emotionally until then. I was already a freshman in high school when I got it. I'm hoping my daughter is a late bloomer like me! I agree that it's so hard to feel fresh and clean during that time, so a few new bath products definitely help. #client
