Summer break is so close we can taste it. The kids only have 4 days left of school and then we are all free!!! They are so ready for fun in the sun, lazy summer days and summer snacking! We are so lucky to live in South Florida and to be able to enjoy so many sunny summer days in the pool....

fishing off piers....

and building sandcastles on the beach.

We spend most of our days outdoors so along with lots of sunscreen, I make sure to pack lots of snacks for my kids to enjoy. I pack the usual water bottles, sandwiches and fresh fruits. I also like to pack special treats that I know my kids love, like their favorite: chocolate covered potato chips and pretzels!

Chocolate covered potato chips and pretzels are the perfect summer snack option! They are easy to make and made with simple high-quality ingredients! #SnackSnapShare #SnackStories #ad

Chocolate covered potato chips are the perfect sweet and salty combination. I love potato chips and I love chocolate so once I tried chocolate covered potato chips at a party I attended, I knew they would be a fun treat for my family. They are an easy way to satisfy everyone's snack cravings.

Chocolate covered potato chips and pretzels are also a very easy snack to make. I make them the night before, pack them in an airtight container and toss the container in my beach bag. Easy snacking made from simple, high-quality ingredients like Cape Cod® Potato Chips and Snyder's of Hanover® Pretzels!

Chocolate Covered Potato Chips and Pretzels
Time: 2 hours

Ingredients:
1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate morsels
sea salt

Over medium heat, bring a double boiler, or a bowl over a pot of water (like I do), to a simmer. Add chocolate and stir until melted.

Dip 3/4 of your chips and pretzels into the chocolate. Tap lightly on the side of the pan or bowl to remove any excess chocolate and then transfer to a parchment lined baking sheet. Sprinkle with sea salt. Let chips/pretzels rest for about 2 hours or chill in fridge for about 20 minutes if needed in a hurry.

Like I mentioned before, once ready, transfer to an airtight container or serve on a plate and enjoy.

Summer is a great time to get creative with your snacking. I really enjoy trying new things and so do my kids.

Cape Cod Potato Chips and Snyder's Pretzels are available at many retailers, including Target. Stop by the chips aisle and make sure to pickup your favorite Cape Cod chips, along with some melting chocolate and you have a delicious snack!!
