Drinks & Dessert Date Night

I look forward to date night. It happens about once every two weeks. Even though we work together and live together, I still get very excited about date night. This week we tried something new: drinks & dessert date night. I didn't want the typical dinner and a movie date. Since this was a last minute idea, I didn't have time to research a fun dessert place so we decided on The Cheesecake Factory since they do have the best cheesecakes EVER!

NOTE: All pics are cell phone pics (No need to lug around the DSLR on date night)

First up: Cocktails!!

I started with a Bellini because man it was so hot outside. I needed a refreshing drink. Besides, I wanted to keep the dessert theme alive!! JC had water because he is boring (not really, he has a Crossfit competition coming up and there is ZERO alcohol during training!)

I mean how can you go wrong with a place that has dedicated 5 pages of its menu to desserts!!

He hates taking pictures so I was super excited that I got this genuine smile!

JC ordered the Reese's Peanut Butter cheesecake and I ordered strawberry. Of course, he helped me finish mine!!

This was probably one of my favorite dates. It was unexpected, casual and fun. We laughed so much, never once talked about the kids or home issues. It was just us hanging out. I highly recommend a drinks & dessert date night to all!!

  3. We love the Cheesecake factory!! We don't have one remotely close to us, but whenever we get the chance to eat at one we do! Spicy cashew chicken makes my heart beat a little faster.

  4. Date nights are the BEST. Most older couples will always tell you that you CANNOT skimp on "couple" time. Despite the kids, the finances, the jobs, and every other darn thing, you have to devote time to your marriage! We try to do one per month, as we have 2 small kids and our finances are tight, but we try to make sure we relax and catch up together after the kids go to bed. Great post, can't beat Cheesecake Factory!

  5. Yum! And date nights are SO important. We've been slacking in that department but the kids are getting older and it should happen. My parents used to go on dates once a week. It's wonderful.
Also, call me weird, but I had a dream last night that I really was photographing your wedding.

  7. I love Cheesecake Factory! Their menu is so extensive it takes me 1/2 hour to decide but I loved everything I've tried so far.

  8. Y'all are just adorable! I've never been to a Cheesecake Factory, but I fully endorse any place that has 5 pages in the dessert menu. How can you go wrong with that?!?! I'm glad you had an awesome time--my husband and I really need to be better about having dedicated date nights. We just get wrapped up in what we're doing and completely forget!
