It's almost here people!! The new Star Wars™ movie hits theaters this week and I am beyond excited. I have always been a HUGE Star Wars™ fan and now Adrian is too. While we are waiting, we have been buying Star wars everything, including cereal. What to do with all the cereal? Well I got a little creative and created our own Star Wars galaxy made out of cereal balls!
Pretty cool, huh? Well in order to create these cereal balls, you will need Star Wars® Honey Nut Cheerios® and Star Wars™ Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cereal®, both available at Walmart! While you are there, make sure to pick up some of the fun Star Wars™ Go-Gurt boxes. Adrian picked out BB-8!
GALAXY CEREAL BALLS
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook time: 10 minutes
Ingredients:
3 cups cereal (crushed)
3 tbsp unsalted butter
1 bag marshmallows
In a saucepan, over medium heat, melt butter. Once butter has melted, swirl all over the pan. Then add marshmallows and cook until melted.
Add cereal and mix thoroughly.
Scoop cereal onto 1/4 and 1/2 measuring cups. Make two sizes (galaxies have planets and moons). Let sit in measuring cups for about 10 minutes to cool and then transfer onto parchment paper. Reshape into balls with your hands. Let cool completely.
Honestly, does it get any easier than that? I made cereal balls from both the Honey Nut Cheerios® and the Cinnamon Toast Crunch®. Once the cereal balls have completely cooled, serve them on a black plate so it looks like space.
These would be so awesome for a Star Wars™ party, as a movie-viewing treat or even for a space lesson! These yummy treats can be decorated with frosting, served on a stick or made into any size you'd like! I made sure mine were different sizes so they would seem like planets!!
Be sure to stop by the cereal aisle next time you are at Walmart and pick up some limited-edition Star Wars™ cereals!
Tell me: Do you have Star Wars™ fans in your home? Would they love these galaxy cereal balls as a special treat?
